Radiant Salkantay 04 Days / 03 Nights

DAY 01: CUSCO – MOLLEPATA

Pick-up from your hotel is at 4:30 AM. The tour departs Cusco at 5:00 AM, passing through the towns of Izcuchaca and Limatambo, arriving in Mollepata at approximately 8:00 AM. Breakfast will be served there. The tour continues from Mollepata to Marqoq'asa and then on to Soraypampa. From Mollepata, you will board the bus again for a 45-minute ride to Marqoq'asa. Afterward, the hike to the viewpoint begins, offering views of the Humantay mountain and Inca canals. The hike continues for approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes, followed by lunch. The tour concludes in Soraypampa, where you will camp for the night.

Marqoq'asa and Soraypampa: 14 km, approximately 5 hours of hiking. Overnight camping.

DAY 02: SORAYPAMPA – SALKANTAY – CHAULLAY

5:00 AM Breakfast, followed by a 6:30 AM hike, beginning with a gradual 4-hour ascent to the Salkantay Pass at 4,650 meters above sea level. Along the way, you will pass two important historical sites (Salkantay-Pampa and Soyroq'ocha). At the pass, you will make a small offering of coca leaves to Pachamama (Mother Earth) and Apu Salkantay (Mount Salkantay), and your guide will share information about Inca history and religion. The descent will take 2.5 hours to the lunch spot, Huayrac-Pampa, where you will spend 1.5 hours enjoying lunch. The hike continues from 4,100 meters to 2,900 meters above sea level for another 3.5 hours, all through the cloud forest, arriving at the Chaullay campsite where you will have tea and dinner. Soraypampa – Salkantay – Chaullay: 22km, approximately 10 hours of walking.

DAY 03: CHAULLAY – SAHUAYACO BEACH – SANTA TERESA

6:00 AM Breakfast, followed by a 5.5-hour hike through the cloud forest, with some ascents and descents. Along the way, you'll see coffee plantations, orchids, begonias, bromeliads, and many other plants used in traditional medicine. You'll arrive at Sahuayaca Beach for lunch and then board a bus to the campsite (Santa Teresa Beach). Upon arrival at the campsite, you'll have the option to visit the hot springs (at your own expense) located in Cocalmayo (Santa Teresa). Return to the campsite at [time missing in original text].

6:00 PM, for tea and dinner. Chaullay – Beach: 14 km, approximately 5 hours of walking. Overnight camping.

DAY 04: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Early in the morning, you will visit Machu Picchu, where you will have a guided tour of the citadel, exploring temples, terraces, palaces, and agricultural platforms. Afterward, you will have free time for photos and independent exploration. Return to the town of Aguas Calientes to await the Expedition train at 6:20 PM.
